The loss for the 2010 World Cup can go to € 750,000,000

Jacob G. Zuma - World Economic Forum Annual Me...

Between what has been invested and the direct revenue, can South Africa have a loss of approximately EUR 750 million with the 2010 World Cup.
Still, the president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, wants his country to the race for the Olympic Games in 2020.

There are a total of 10 stadium in nine cities, four of them renovated and six specially built for the World Cup, some of them in cities that do not have a team of top flight football or rugby. "Some of these stages simply not able to cover the costs. In this sense they are losing money,"  said in the past months, the Daily Mail & Guardian, the economist Stan du Plessis, University of Stellenbosch

The South African government has invested about 2.6 billion dollars in the World Cup stadiums, two of them in small towns of Nelspruit and Polokwane, to just four games in the group stage, an unreasonable burden for many analysts.

According to them, what they intend to do is to organize a schedule of activities such as concerts or sporting events, monetize the building. Cape Town now has a spectacular stadium, which cost more than $ 400,000,000.

In turn,  Port Elizabeth stadium, which is known by the premiere game of Portugal and the Ivory Coast (0-0) ,cost 160 million dollars and no one knows what is its future after the World Cup. However, the city is considering attract some professional team to take their seat.

According to Stan du Plessis, the only stadium in Durban and Soweto, Soccer City, will be long-term profitable.

The calculations were presented on Friday by Finance Minister of South Africa

The story begins in the year 1799, and most of the action takes place on the man-made island of Dejima in Nagasaki, Japan. This is the farthest outpost of the Dutch East Indies Company and foreigners are kept restricted to the island. It's the only contact point between Japan and the West.

神奈川沖浪裏 Kanagawa oki nami ura ("The Great ...He meticulously the lost world of the Edo era in Japan rebuilt, and he made his novel rather conventional, but more emotionally yet: It's like an acrobatic performance artists, but show Offy, expert mime, ventriloquist and Brain Gym literature, decided to make a game in the old and in the process, showed his chops as an actor.
As the novel begins, is 1799, and the Land of the Rising Sun is closed to the West, with the exception of a factory on the island near Nagasaki Dejima, the Dutch of the runs. Jacob Young zoet was there to make his fortune and win the hand of his beloved home Anna, back in Rotterdam: her father promised to marry Jacob can, after he served five years of posting in the Far East as a writer.
Jacob is demanding, both fascinated and repelled by life in the streets flood, he looks around him, "gnarled elderly women, monks scattered, unmarried girls discolored teeth with" singing street children, unscrupulous traders, courtesans expensive, smell of cooked rice, water, frankincense, lemon, sawdust, baking soda and decomposing algae. "
Jacob is also magnetic Aibagawa Orito, a midwife in young Japanese with a scarred face, studying medicine is Dejima, grown under the tutelage of a Dutch doctor, Marinus. Orito earned this privilege unheard of a successful woman to deliver the stillborn child Shiroyama, obviously a powerful authority. Although Jacob is soon obsessed with Orito, his love is forbidden to her - as a Westerner, he is persona non grata in Japan, and Orito is of ever leaving their homes prohibited. In addition, Jacob has a rival for the affections of the same Orito pitch, a translator named Uzaemon whose desire to marry her, was by his father, who is involved with many debts of his family was rejected.
In the past, Mitchell has a tendency to dispense with conventional narratives and held together better with parallel or contrasting history (most of them cut a little more daring skip postmodern literary and some tape). But here it is the romantic triangle Orito, Jacob and Uzaemon transformation into an obligation of the line that the action on the lengths of the first third of the novel - drives especially the display sections in irregular opening chapters, and worked himself almost as if Self-confident to try to ensure every detail of historical and linguistic phrases were correct.
At the same time, Mr. Mitchell's love of music and theme structuring the service of his cross-cutting issues (the tension between East and West, imperialism and democracy, science and superstition placed), bringing their impact historical narrative, such as Japan, Holland and England to compete against each other in international affairs. Instead of italics, the importance of this moment in history, it allows the consequences of this clash of civilizations, the bubble slowly through the stories of their characters.
In particular, "A Thousand Autumns" is structured as a triptych, or three pieces of musical composition. While the first section, which is established the world of Dejima and presents the main characters, largely static, the second movement - the hijacking of Orito and tells of his internment in a mountain monastery by a group of monks from out evil - the frenetic staccato pace Thrillers and an over-the-top twirling mustache has a silent melodrama.
We learned that the monks abducted under the direction of an eminent judge named Lord Abbot Enomoto, not only the use of women as broodmares them, but also kill their children as sacrifices to the goddess in exchange for the promise of eternal life.
Mitchell is to write as an experienced genre pastiche, and he may make such sensational developments convincing (if not quite plausible), even if he uses his skills to describing the world of Gothic monastery make it as tangible as the dealer Wheeling-world use Dejima .
The third sentence of the novel, Mr. Mitchell graciously accommodate change down to his surly mood, describes the consequences of the daring rescue Uzaemon Orito, the unexpected trajectory of the career of Jacob and the arrival of a British warship in the waters off the coast of Nagasaki.
This section, short coda unfolds as the novel is smooth as one of those Japanese paper flowers when they bloom placed in water, give us a sense of unfolding views of the time - in the lives of Jacob, and the history of Dutch and Japanese. It is a conclusion that the field notes Mitchell is not only there virtuoso fireworks of literary art, but also the quietest of empathy and traditional stories.

User Review

I have the Logitech gaming keyboard, and have owned a number of keyboards, and this is by far the best. The simple reason is that it is a gaming keyboard that allows the number keypad to be placed on the left side of the keyboard.

I am right handed, so this may seem a strange reason to recommend this keyboard, but ergonomically moving out the keypad puts the main part of the keyboard and the mouse closer together. You don't reach far to move the mouse. For regular and gaming use this is a big win.

As a gaming keyboard it is fine, and the keys feel adequate (not stellar). If Logitech made a keyboard with this break-off keypad design it would beat the Microsoft keyboard in most respects. But again, an adequate gaming keyboard with one really great feature.

I also like the big round knob used for controlling volume versus the usual + and - buttons.

Minor quibbles include the placement of the "Esc" key, I keep hitting F1 by mistake and that it has a non-detachable hand rest.

But the detachable keypad for ergonomic reasons makes this keyboard a "must have", and deserving of 5 stars despite minor problems.

Glee: The Music, Journey To Regionals

Product Details

User Review:

The smash-hit musical TV series "Glee" releases its fifth musical compilation, "Journey to Regionals", which is the second of the five albums to focus solely on the music of a single episode (the previous being volume three, all from "The Power of Madonna"). And indeed, if any single episode of the series were to deserve that honour, I don't think any would merit it more than the first season finale, "Journey", which sends the Glee cast to their Regional championship and features a set of six excellent numbers.

New Directions delivers a full set of three new numbers here, all by the classic rock band Journey (hence, the episode title; they're subtle, these writers). The collection opens with a rendition of "Faithfully" (originally from the 1983 album "Frontiers"), with series stars Lea Michele (Rachel) and Cory Monteith (Finn) singing the duet (everybody else on backing, which really isn't the sort of thing you'd sing in a show choir competition, but whatever, that's not important here). Michele is the powerhouse of the series; Monteith started out rather weak, but he's grown by leaps and bounds over the last year, and he acquits himself well. The two just have chemistry, and it comes through in their song (if you're invested in Finn and Rachel as a couple, that helps too).

Next up, a mash-up of "Any Way You Want It" (1980's album "Departure") and "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'" (1979's "Evolution") performed by the whole group, again with Finn and Rachel singing the lead. "Glee" has always done group mash-ups well (the gold standard being "Halo"/"Walking On Sunshine", in my opinion), and this one continues that trend. It's the most purely fun number in the collection, and one of the best the show has done on that score as well.

New Directions closes out its bid for the title with a new version of "Don't Stop Believin'" (1981's "Escape"). This is a bit of a risky move for the series in some ways; they covered it already in the pilot, and it's probably the show's defining song. Here, instead of Michele and Monteith dueting again, the producers mix in several other singers from the group (only Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) and Dianna Agron (Quinn) are omitted). The results are frankly terrific. I don't know which version of the song I like more as yet, but they're both great; especially great is Naya Rivera (Santana), who has rapidly become one of my favourite voices on the show.

Then there is the big showstopper by New Directions' main competition, Vocal Adrenaline, who deliver an excellent cover of Queen's classic "Bohemian Rhapsody" (1975's "A Night at the Opera"). Now, this will never be anything other than a Queen song, with talent like Freddie Mercury involved, but Broadway star Jonathan Groff gives it his best go, and it's a very admirable one at that. The non-competition numbers that follow are quieter: a rendition of "To Sir, With Love" (from the 1967 film of the same name, and most famously recorded by Lulu) featuring most of the group's female vocalists and Chris Colfer (Kurt) (again omitting Agron) is nicely handled. Then Matthew Morrison (Mr. Schuester) and Mark Salling (Puck) deliver a charming rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" (based on the 1993 ukulele version by Hawaiian artist Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, not the 1939 Judy Garland one) to send us off until next season.

All in all, it's a very strong collection of songs, and if you're a fan of "Glee"'s music, this is the album to buy.
